About

Welcome to my blog. I hope that you the posts here both informational and humorous.

You might be thinking why should I read this blog? What does this guy do for a living? Does he have any experience?

Well let me take a little time and introduce myself to you.

My name is Harold and I have been working in the information technology field for roughly 15 years. I started out and spent 3 years in the IT field as a field support technician. I left that position for what I thought would be a better opportunity to grow and went to work for a consulting service. (I decided that food on the table was more important than relying on non-technical people trying to get me a gig more than a week or two.) For the last 12 years I have been a System/Network Administrator/Engineer. I also currently have my own computer repair business where I specialize in home and small business users.

Now that I have given you a little insight about my career, here are a few lines about my education:
I was awarded an A.A.S in Drafting and Design in 1996.
I was awarded a B.S. in Computer Science in 2000.
I am an on and off again student enrolled in a MSIS curriculum.

Well for certifications I hold several:

Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0
Connected Home Integrator
Windows 7, Configuration
Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure
Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST)
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
CompTIA
Server+
PDI+

There is a lot of contention in the I.T. industry about certifications. The majority of my exams and credentials are from taking and passing Beta exams.
